"Introduction to Weaving Willow Frames
With Richard Green
Wednesday 6th March 2013
10.15am-1.00pm
On these practical half day courses Richard Green will demonstrate how to make up willow frames of differing sizes and shapes to match the habits of a variety of shrubs and climbers, as he has done so successfully at Coton, rather than resorting to standard size frames purchased from garden centres. During a brief tour of the garden he will also look at other applications such as willow fences and arbours. You will have the opportunity during the second part of the morning to make your own wigwam, or rose frame, (under his instruction!) to take home. All materials will be supplied but please bring secateurs and wear suitable outdoor clothing. (Numbers limited to 15)
£70 including lunch & materials
Richard Green has been Head Gardener at Coton Manor for the past nineteen years and, apart from his extensive responsibilities for maintaining the garden to a high standard, constructs all the plant supports required for the many roses and climbers in the garden which attract favourable comment."
